Last winter I bought 2 muscadines, one self fertile and one not. They were tiny and took a long time to start to grow in the spring. And then my sweet kiddo accidentally weed whipped the self fertile completely. Without hope, I searched for another self fertile one to plant even though it was already summer and hot, which led to meeting Wilson Bro. I didn’t expect much because the plant was being shipped in the heat and spending a week in transit, but was in great shape and much larger than my remaining vine that had been growing for 3 months. After discovering Wilson Brothers last year, they have become our go to nursery. The plants are always packaged great that reduces damage. The grape plant arrived undamaged, we planted it. The plant was potted unlike other nursery’s bare root plant. Two weeks later it has started to leaf out. We live in a remote area of Wyoming – and have had a lot of issues filling our 22 ft dome greenhouse with live trees and shrubs.. In spite of below freezing temps – and delays due to I-80 getting closed on a regular basis (due to wind and snow from our Fall blizzards) the Muscadine and Black Spanish grape plants arrived quickly and in good shape.
