Petals can range from a deep rose pink to brilliant red edged with a thin to wide white border surrounding a prominent patch of golden-yellow stamens. The plant in our gardens has an attractive semi-weeping form with dark green evergreen foliage that is the perfect backdrop for the colorful flowers. To enjoy the flowers indoors, display several cuttings in a vase. Sure to be a conversation piece in the garden!
Landscape & Garden Uses
A vigorous grower to 8 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, the the Sadaharu Oh Camellia can be grown as a shrub or small tree. As a shrub it is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings, or as a hedge or background plant, in landscape borders and is especially nice as a corner plant or espalier (trained to grow flat against a wall) in home foundation plantings. As the plant grows, lower branches can be removed to form a highly attractive and colorful weeping focal specimen in landscape borders and home foundation plantings. A fine addition to red color theme gardens, cottage gardens, cut flower gardens, Asian gardens and woodland borders. Also suitable for containers that can be brought indoors during winter north of USDA Zone 7a, where this cultivar is not reliably winter hardy. Find Your Zone

I ordered this camellia during sasanqua season, so it is not blooming yet. However, the 3 gallon size is a full and shapely plant that is loaded with buds. I will certainly vouch for the quality of Wilson Bros. plants and their care in shipping. My first purchase was for a dear elderly friend who was absolutely delighted and sent me a photo of the bodacious camellia. My best mail order plant experience ever!——————————–Wow! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
I ordered two camellias from Wilson Brothers and two other camellia plants from another retailer. Wilson Brothers plants came better packed for shipping. The camellias are healthier than their competitors. I am more than happy with the quality of these camellias, full of buds, I just hope that I can keep them happy enough to come into full bloom. A+ !! Thank you for such beautiful specimens. Highly recommended. I can’t give enough positive praise for Wilsons Brother’s plants.————————————————————————-We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come!
